    Hi

My dishwasher has developed a fault. The machine is around 18 moths old.

It the controls operate as normal and the program selection can be made. When the door is closed to start the wash nothing happens. Normally there would be an audible bleep but this does not occur.

I have checked the door switch which is operational and if I pour water into the machine the drain pump runs until it has been emptied. I have also tried the legendary turning it off and on again! There are no fault lights showing.

I am planning to look at it further tomorrow, can anyone suggest where to start or tell me where I could get a copy of the wiring diagram?

    Regards,

    Alan.

Sadly an Indesit machine with Hotpoint’s name on it, wiring diagrams are not generally available to the public. They are copyright material so we cannot distribute them even if we can get them.

The wiring inside the door is very weak on these, remove the mains plug and have a look there first.

    Hi,

    Firstly thanks for the reply.

When you say inside the door, I was looking in there earlier this evening. All I could see was the loom going to the pcb for the power and program switches and the wires for the door safety switch. Both of these looked ok. Is there anything else I can check within the door itself?

It seems like the machine is waiting for a condition before it will start but I don’t know what conditions must be met for the cycle to commence.

    Regards,

    Alan.

    Re: Hotpoint LFT 114 fault

The wiring has two weak spots, where it is routed under the thin rod that goes across the door and at the bottom where it bends as the door is opened and closed. That said the electronics on Indesit appliances are very prone to failure. 😥

    Hi,

The dishwasher has started working again so I have not looked at the problem since.

If the fault reoccurs I will check out the wiring mentioned. An intermittent fault would support your theory.

    Thanks for your help,

    Alan.
