    Good day,

Smeg DWI612 dishwasher problem on all programs, for a minute or two it fills with water then there is a click sound (seems to come from the control panel left side) and program will not continue. When programs stops running there is a very small amount of water showing in the base of the dishwasher.

If changing to P1 (pre-soak) it will pump out the water.

Trying any program again, results in machine stopping during or at end of filling, when slight amount of water in bottom of washing compartment. Only way forward then is P1 to empty machine.

Question, is the click sound as it stops a form of trip, electronic switch? Is it related to high water level sensor.

If it has reached the end of filling and the wash cycle/re-circulating pump should be starting, does this cause a “trip” if it doesn’t work properly (I ask this because others on this forum say dishwaher continues through programme and hums although re-circ pump is stuck and no washing takes place).

Only other thing I can think of is heater, if there is a problem with the water heater and if it was switching on at this stage, if there was a fault with it, does it cause the machine to trip/program to stop? NB I don’t think this can be the problem, as cold cycles also trip.

Based on above thoughts, I think the problem is the level sensor/switch, where can I access this and find out if it is operating correctly?

    regards
