    Hi
    The oven is an old Hoover that was in the house when moved in so know little about its history and there is no handbook. The oven is not getting as hot as usual. The top element is glowing red except for the outer rim. Could this be the problem? Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Many thanks for quick reply. Have looked for a model number but can’t find one. Any suggestions where to look would be helpful. Will try the base plate.
