ParticipantI have a call on one of these and need a few pointers.
The customer has moved from Lancashire recently and reports the machine intermittently bangs on the side of the cabinet and can be any type of load. I’ve asked her to have some heavy towels handy for a test but what would be the things to look for as I’ve not been to one before?
Before she moved there were problems with not draining and the engineer removed the sump ball saying it was sticking. Should I replace it or is this a common solution to a drain problem?
Thanks
Rob

unlikely to be the drum banging on the side unless something drastic was broken while moving. check the drain hose inside as this can bang against the side.
The lower panel under the door can be removed, (may need to tilt the machine back slightly to access the 2 screws under the front) which will give you a good view inside to see whats going on.December 3, 2011 at 3:11 pm #364775iadom

Unless your water is very hard I wouldn’t replace the eco ball.
I made several visits to this machine for oversoaping and locking up, soft water round here.
Tried everything including a new pump, extra rubber ring on the filter etc to no avail. After I removed the eco ball I had no further problems and it was more than six months or more since I last called.
She did phone me yesterday to ask my opinion, I asked her if the transit bolts had been refitted before moving and guess what, they had not. :rolls:
She did live in Diggle,Saddleworth, the natives there will not like you saying its from Lancashire, even though they come under Oldham MBC they are adamant that they are in Yorkshire.

THIS is a thread I joined in about this very machine. 😉

Thanks Mark, I’ll look when I call. Never thought of that one 😯
So it was you Jim!!!! 😀
She said today she had rung you but has put the call on hold as she doesn’t want to pay a call out if I can’t find a fault and it has been quiet over the weekend. She wants to video it banging and I’ve emailed ISE to find out if they would accept it so will keep you posted.
Rob
PS. She never mentioned the transit bolts :rolls:December 5, 2011 at 4:38 pm #364777iadom

She is quite a nice woman but very demanding. 😀

If she’s not used the transit bolts one of the springs at the top is probably off.
Obviously not covered by warranty. 😉

Thanks Ken,
I’m waiting for the next call and can go forewarned and looks like a call out fee coming my way 😀December 22, 2011 at 3:33 pm #364780robbra

Well she cancelled the last call but is back again now with a new problem.
The time display goes out before the end of the wash but she isn’t sure exactly where in the programme so she restarts the wash and away it goes…sometimes 😕 Only the time display goes out but all other lights remain.
Any ideas please?
Thanks

Mine does that when it’s finished after a while, the display goes off.
Other than that, not a clue. 😕
