ParticipantHi guys – picked up the above freezer a week ago. Searched for a user manual but think it is too old as I can’t find it on the AEG website. I can’t see a PNC number, the numbers on the label on the inside give the following info (as well as some stuff about voltage etc.):
aeg class n
arctis 310 gs
E-nr: 625 520 982 f-059308273
gross 303 l
storage 267 lIt is the basic style 6ft (ish) upright freezer, with (from left to right) temperature setting dial (currently set to 1), two buttons: Power(with green light), Fastfreeze? (with Orange light), and the red light with triangle (I am assuming temperature warning/alarm light).
After transporting I let it stand for around a week before powering up. On powering up the red light came on aswell as the orange light. After a day or so the orange light stayed on (red has gone out). I pressed the orange light button again to turn off what I assume is the fastfreeze but nothing happened. I turned off using the power button and back on but Orange stayed on. I have pressed and held the orange light button in the hope that would turn it off but no joy. The frezer is currently empty and a thermomenter placed inside is showing -30ish. Does this fast freeze auto shut off and am I just being too impatient, if so how long should you typically have to wait?
(Incidentally the green power light never comes on, may be relevant, but I am assuming the bulb has just gone).
As always, thanks in advance for any advice.

Try turning up t’stat above 1, is it cooling o.k & turning off the compressor or running continuously. Sounds like theres a fault on the fast freeze switch.

Will try that over the weekend. Haven’t observed the operation of the compressor, it’s certainly cooling (less than -30 at the mo).
will have a look over the weekend to see if compressor is on continually or not.December 13, 2011 at 4:46 pm #365133schmooser

Solved – Looks like it was dodgy button after all! It’s working again now
