This happens in any program. The correct lamps come on whatever programme is selected. I’ve tried 1)Reseating all connectors 2)Checked that dryer fan runs – by connecting 240v across it. 3)Checked that that immersion & fan heater are not o/c.

Thanks for looking, any help much appreciated

…obvious question but must just ask…. Have you checked the motor?

Any advice you have that would enable me to check it, and eliminate the motor would be appreciated.

But with the greatest respect to you at this point I would suggest you excercise a great deal of caution when looking closely at the motor. My concerns based on your earlier comment: –

We never advise or advocate ‘LIVE’ testing, that is not good and brings into question that maybe, just maybe, you haven’t sufficient electrical knowledge in order to successfully resolve the problem. In the trade we use multimeters and insulation testers in order to inspect/test electrical components. Hot wiring these things is darn right dangerous. 🙁

Proceed with caution my friend or get an expert in to sort it for you please. 🙂

I fully understand your disclaimer & caveats, and it’s only right that you should. However , you’ve now raised my expectations just how do I test the motor? Is it elimination only? For the record I am using a Fluke multi-meter.

Check the field coil windings, the armature and carbon brushes and not forgetting the tacho coil with that Fluke of yours. Visually check the state of the connector block connections and clean the commutator. That should cover it hopefully? 😀
