Good evening, I have an Indesit tumble dryer (Model no IDC75S) which does not wish to heat up. The filters are all clean and the drum turns freely when the machine is switched on but it will not heat up.
I have found one thermostat located in the door rim and would like to know if there are any others located further into the bowels of the machine and furthermore what sort of reading should I get from my test meter which would indicate if the thermostat is working or broken or do I need to look further.
Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks practico.

    Re: Indesit tumble dryer

The thermostats under the rear cover above the heating element are far more likely to fail, you should get simple continuity on both stats.

    They come as a kit.

THIS is what you may need.

Handle the new ones with care, do not press on the bases of the stats.

Failure is usually caused by lack of regular cleaning of the filter and especially the condensor, opening the door to check on the dryness in mid cycle or sometimes motor capacitor failure.

Thanks iadom, that is really helpful. Had taken the top off and peered inside but with your advice will continue with the back cover and have a check there. Merry Xmas. Practico.
