    Hi Folks,

Can anyone shed any light on this problem.

I have now had 4 of these elements from CDSL, which straight out of the box, have low insulation, usually around the 1/2 Meg mark.
Todays offering has been baked in the oven for half an hour which has brought this one from 0.32 meg to around 1meg, still no where near good enough for a new part. This tumble dryer is a Siemens WXTL1100GB/01 which I think is actually made by Gorenge. If I order from Bosch direct will I get a newer, fresher element or are they all crap?.

    Regards,

    Mike

Hey Mike, stick to baking cakes in the oven as there is a better way to resolve your earth resistance problem…..

1)Fit the element in the dryer as per normal.
    2) Disconnect the earth tab at the terminal block of the dryer.
    3) Run the dryer on full blast for around 5 minutes.
    4) Reconnect earth tab at the terminal block.
    5) Run dryer again for a few seconds.
    6) Unplug dryer then carry out megger insulation test again.
    7) Earth leak test…clear…pat yourself on the back…sorted!

    HTH? 😀

The pattern ones I’ve had from Masterpart which were about six quid each in twos have all been fine.

Thanks for the quick response Martin.

I had tried that old dodge on one of the earlier offerings, but I thought I would give it a Whirl with the one that arrived today. Start reading 1meg- disconnect earth- run for 15 mins-New reading 0.32meg. Verdict-crap elements.
Thanks for your help, I will let you know how i get on.

    Happy new Year.

    Mike.
