    looks like our 6 yr old hotpoint is on its last legs and so looking for a new machine…

    up to £500…. but obviously the cheaper the better but i want something half decent as with 2 young boys it gets alot of use..

    ive seen a few in the sales… supposedly reduced from 500-600 down to 300-350, but im unsure if they were worth 500-600 to start with..

    for instance.
    HOOVER WMH168D reduced from 499 to 299
    CANDY EVO1682D-80 reduced from 540 to 319

    I do see a few people recommending the Amica and Gorenje machines and i see there quite well priced.

    I did look at the Gorenje WA74163 which i recon i could get around £500,,, which comes with a 5yr warranty and seems to be one of there top end machines… anyone had any experiances with this?

    or a cheaper Amica like the AWM714D which seems a great price at around 330-350

    So if you had to buy a machine now and could go as far as £500… what would you choose?

    Simples, get a Bosch 😀


    Leave the Candy and Hoover (same company) well alone, the Gorenje is a good all rounder especially with the five year warranty.

    I’ve read a few posts about some cheaper Bosch machines not being made in Germany or something along those lines?
    I have seen a couple of Bosch machines around £300, most notably the BOSCH WAE24367GB ..( only 1200 spin but hey..sacrifices) but i couldn’t help wonder if with it being such a low price it may be one of the newer inferior Bosch machines? if there truly is such a thing?

    Secondly.. is the Gorenje worth the extra £230 over the Bosch?

    The Bosch WAQ28460 is the one to go for 😉 The promo 4 year warranty expired on new years eve sadly but independant retailers are still offering an energy cashback on this model among others until the 20th January.

    Personally I would still go with the Bosch over the Gorenje.

    Cheers Don.. went for the Bosch WAQ28460 on your say so… so its all your fault if it all goes pear shaped 🙂

    worked out around 360 delivered so quite happy with that.. 😀
