    We have a Zanussi machine and lately when I shut the door it refuses to work unless I slam it really hard or kick the machine, both are obviously not a good idea. Any ideas of what could be wrong and how I can fix it please?

    Door interlock faulty. A model number would be handy then we could advise cost.

    If you are not a DIY’er, a job for the experts.

    Whoops sorry, the model number is WDT1072. I take it, it is a difficult job?

    Door lock 4 terminal type part number ends 209. Can retail around £20 – £30 depending on supplier.

    An easy job to do if you know your way around it, any doubts leave it to a professional, it may cost but you will get a full guarantee with the repair.
