    My Diplomat APM 8702 washer/dryer runs fine with no clothes in but even a small load stops the drum from turning during a wash cycle, It spins perfectly at both speeds. The motor runs freely with the belt off and the drum can be turned by hand without the belt. I have fitted a new belt but it has not helped. Any ideas?

    There’s a version with a brushed motor and one with an induction motor.

    If it’s the induction on which it probably is then the likely culprit is the capacitor, this one:

    Thanks. It’s the induction type. Where is the capacitor likely to be situated in the machine?
