My washing machine as above has recently started filling with water between washes when turned off. The water appears clean but has either devolped a bad smell from standing or smells from being contaminated. My first responce was to replace the inlet valves which came as a 3 way individualy opperated solinoid system which I fitted however this did not stop the problem although there seems to be less as I havent noticed the water in the bottom of the drum, however there is still water in the filter but not straight after wash but 3 or 4 days later there is a cup or 2 worth. Is this a fualt with the drain pump or some other source. I did look for the drain pump by model but did not see it if anyones knows what one it is please feel free to leave a link.

All wshing machines are left with some water in the sump and pump.it is surprising how much is left after the wash has finished. You could try disconnecting the pump and check it is clear of obstructions.Remember to unplug before you do anything.

It is normal to have upto a pint of water left in the sump area after the wash. If your appliance is on a sink spigot then this will make it smell also using liquids or gel capsules on low temps (upto 40c) cause a build up of grey smelly sludge in the drum you need to perform a boil wash with a descaler tablet (like calgon) in the drum on a 90c wash on a reguler basis. There wont be a prob with the pump .
