Hotpoint TDL30P Blown component

Hi,
I have aproblem with my Hotpoint dryer (model TDL30P).
There is a small cylindrical doohickey that has blown (literally). It sits above the drum and to the right as you face the dryer with the lid off.
it has a part number of KPB7336 and also has other number/letters that i think must be the size or something (X1Y2 5000 pF+1.5Mfunny symbol).
I read elsewhere on this forum that it was a mains suppressor but I don’t know what that is or where to get one. if I do get one will whatever caused it to blow just do the same again.
The dryer carried on running when it noisily blew.
ANY help would be much appreciated.
