These must be one of the worst appliances made by the look at the amount of posts!including some from me 😳
I am confused which is the current dryer heater box top, is it the one with the external TOC (yellow sleeve microtemp inside) or is it the one with the TOC inside the box ,only changed by removing heater box.
I have replaced the TOC 160deg on one of these, only for it to blow again within a week(part no.

Everything is working fine, fan/thermistor no blockages so why do these c00202741 fail? and does it need a different heater box topRe: Hotpoint WD860

well thermistor would be next i know you say you tested it but iwould replace it as cheap fix failng that you are down to board change, these machines were prone to fan slipping down the shaft and fouling the housing but ithink you would be able to spot that, the early machines had the one shot stat

That one did cross my mind, how do you check for this? I checked to see if the heater was cycling on and off (no washing in appliance).
Still need to know if C00199348 is the latest box cover.
