    Hi all,

Hoping someone can give me a steer on what the fault code covers and what simple steps I can take to resolve the problem.

    Thanks in advance!

    I’m guessing that it’s actually F6, not Fb. 😉

    Answer is here.

It isn’t simple. But you might have expected that it wouldn’t be.

Highest probability is that it’s the flow meter in the fill chamber that’s kaput if I’m right which is, this one. I cannot guarantee that that that cure it of course but, I’d be pretty confident that it would.

    Thanks kwatt,

I thought it was f6 to start with but the led also flashes 12 times rather than 6 which is why I think it’s fb. Water does flow but after 2-3 minutes it stops and the error code pops up. :-/

12 flashes is FB sure enough and a diverter valve fault. Good luck with that. 😉

It only applies if the dishwasher has a half load function where you can only spray the top or bottom basket, few models have that function on them.

If it is the diverter valve, it’s a pig to replace usually and not cheap either. But then, very few Whirlpool parts are cheap. If any.

    Happy days!

I have tried running the top and bottom seperately but I had no joy, guess I will call someone out. What’s your guesstimate on the cost of a repair?

No idea TBH apart from labour should be in the £40-100 mark depending on where you are and who you call.

I can’t recall ever using a diverter valve on one of those machines, if that is indeed what’s gone.
