Our machine (Bosch Lavamat) is leaving soap powder behind in the drawer. Have cleaned out the water inlet filters so water pressure should be OK.

I’m pretty sure it’s caused by scale buildup in the water distributor above the drawer – I can see holes that are getting blocked with scale. Have tried to clean them out but its getting harder and harder.

Is there any way to descale that part of the machine? Something tells me that normal descaler will not get up there as the water flow comes directly from the mains, but I might be wrong.

If it is really bad then the only thing to do is to remove the dispenser top, split it, clean and refit. Rather fiddly but can be done.

I was afraid you’d say that 🙁 I have had a look at that part when I had the lid off a while ago, but it looked like the whole sub-assembly would have to be removed together, and I could not work out how to get it out. Is there anything like a guide to this?

Machine is an AEG Lavamat “75620 update” – not Bosch, sorry.

Afraid not, you have to follow your nose. 😉
