    I had to do 50 odd repairs on one site last week ( massive power surge through the whole estate ) and spent a few days changing pcb’s on whirlpool ovens and dishwashers. The job was one of them where the appliances had to be fixed sharpish so I ordered all the spares on site from CDSL and Masterpart. I had about 14 dishwashers to change the pcb on and was a bit concerned when I looked at a tatty box which had obviously been returned but thought I would try it.
    Sure enough it would not start a program and when I looked closely at the pcb I could see that the clear plastic rod that connects to the program button was damaged but I managed to take the housing off the old pcb and get it going.

    On the day I was fitting parts I received another job for a dishwasher and ordered the pcb from CDSL, when this one came I could not believe the state it was in ( picture below )

    I noticed that the yellow label was a bit proud on the box and peeled it of to reveal two more labels below, it was shipped originally in Oct 2010 and returned, then sold to an espares customer who returned it and then it came to me. This pcb needs programmed so I wonder how many espares customers have a SAM module???

    I called CDSL and got a polite sorry but no answer when I told them that I was travelling 70 miles to fit this one board and what would happen if it did not work…. I fitted the pcb and it seemed to work but surely when spares get in this condition they should be wrote off by CDSL.

    Hmmm…

    And why we rarely, if ever, accept PCBs as a return. Even trade muck it up all too often so what chance do the great unwashed have?

    John,We get this all the time from connect.On a host of spare parts from floorcare to washing machines to cookers,Parts that have been out before with labels on them from espares.buyspares and trade account numbers.
    Being honest we have give up complaining as we just get a stock answer that’s full of BS.

    i very rarely get a pcb from connect which hasnt had the box opened. i was thinking that connect must be opening the boxes themselves and marking the pcbs.
    i got a very rxpensive siemens pcb from connect it didnt work
    i didnt know wether to try another one and in the end wrote it off.
    i am trying to return it to connect but the carrier didnt pick it up.

    Same here, had a pcb for Hotpoint D/W delivered. Box was torn and part had been used. Took ages to arrange return and get credit.
    You need to speak with your account manager at CDSL they seem to be the ones that get things moving.
    Mine phoned back and arranged the return and credit over the phone but that was after phoning many times speaking to sales promising to get back and never did.

    Distriparts have the right idea. If the box has been opened they will not receive it back.

    BSH sent me a pcb for a Neff oven that box had been opened and taped up – pcb was covered in burnt grease and terminals were all marked. Returned for full refund.
