I attended this dishwasher last week, was told that the drain pump was temperamental. I checked out the pump, seems ok-ish though it was full of water inside the chamber. Looks like it was weak flow out. checked for blockage by blowing through, water moved with ease.

Replaced pump with pattern part, leaks badly, tossed the pattern part pump out and fitted genuine part. Works very well, strong flow, thought nothing more.

Now got a call saying same problem again.

On my visit, I checked for earth continuity and insulation, passed with flying colours. no visible leaks.

Has anyone come across this before?

does the drain hose climb then fall away to outlet or is there loads of it lying on the floor.
if the latter then the entire hose will be full of water and may be a bit much for the pump to get going.

other than that if this is a recent machine with underneath access ive had one where the beige coloured elbow on the drain hose had “delaminated” inside the bend and a flap of rubber was blocking the pipe. blowing through was ok but it wouldnt let water through.

    hope this helps

PCB contact probs? Pump triac on board playing silly buggers? Sliver of broken glass in pump chamber? Non-return valve sticking?

no water on base just inside sump. It pumps out just fine, no obvious blockage. Will try again and see if it pumps out well on next appt. As for blowing through, I blew in the water through the pipes and it went through with ease.

I would be gutted if it is pcb problem, I lose money on this. Those genuine pump costed me a fortune.

I will pay closer attention to the wirings. The client is on holiday at the mo, so I await for his call…
