Need a 1800w halogen hob element for a EW93T, according to connect its obsolete, cant find it on hp’s own spares site and qtx list it as out of stock/s-o.

Thing is am wondering why its obsolete as it was also fitted to ew84’s which last few have only just stopped being distributed new in the last 18mths or so!

Is it something to do with the halogen part being included in the over 60w ban on production of filament bulbs?

original part no is supposed to be C00228950 but only alternatives listed atm are the stoves/belling packed parts @ 90 quid trade.

normally wouldnt be too bothered about going that route except cooker is just 5 years old and pristine to look at! also had to replace the main module 4 months ago for her as that went kaput, shes a pensioner and now this has happened so feel for her having to have this part replaced as well… :/

Very strange indeed. Just a thought, have you condidered fitting a ceramic (non halogen) hotplate?

probably just old stock being run out. Halogen has had its day, most replacements are now fast ceramic, have to explain to customer the advantages…..
