I have the above dryer, it has developed a loud squeal when the drum turns clockwise, when it reverses it is quiet.

Is this likely to be a main bearing issue? I don’t get why it runs properly in one direction!

Usual causes of noise are, rear bearing, front bearing pads worn, small brass earthing strip behind the rear bearing cover squeaking on end of shaft.

All inexpenisve things to fix, Also prone to cabinet distortion which allows the drum to scrape on the back of cabinet, this is often worse in one direction.

Thanks for the reply – only just got round to looking at it.

From the wear marks on the front lip of the drum, my issue is obviously the front bearing pads have had it!

Now to find some as there’s none listed in the shop.

I think I’ve found some for a similar model – they look the same, now to keep my fingers crossed.
