    Hello everyone,

I have an old Candy CDC266UK condenser dryer. I am energy saving concious and I should really buy a newer dryer at some point but in the meantime I was wondering whether heating elements degrade over time?

My dryer is probably about 8-10 years old but only really been used for the last five or so. It was in storage the rest of the time.

My dryer seems to work OK when I remember to rinse out the condensor but I have no idea what it costs to run. It’s Grade C I think but will my dryer perform better if I spent 29.99 on a new heating element, i.e. hotter therefore dry clothes faster thus save money?

    Regards, Jay

Energy use wise, it’d make no difference.
