I have installed a new PCB, I have connected the wiring connectors the same as previous. Reset as per recomendations….power off, hold down programme button and power on again, (programme is on 0, then turned off, programme button held down then power on and m/c bleeps once, but then programmes goes from 0 to 1….is this correct?)

Dishwasher runs for approx 5/6 mins then bleeps and E2 comes up. The error is related only to the installation of new PCB, it was not doing it before. So I reset m/c and again it happened.

How can the installation of a new PCB cause an E2 fault??

Please do not say check the forums for E2 codes, I have already done that and nothing is related. I simply installed a new PCB.

    Thank you

What was the original fault Steven?

    Steven,

We are regulated by EU legislation as to how much information we can actually give out, please understand that we cannot go into exact specific detail on certain faults.

Whilst unlikely, it is possible that you have a faulty new timer and, in that case, I would refer you back to the supplier. It is also possible that the old one was faulty in more ways than one and not detecting the proper error. Essentially it’s a tough one even for us that are familiar with the appliance, hence I advised you to seek out someone that is familiar with the appliance.

In so far as I can see you’ve reset the machine properly so that isn’t the problem.

Without looking at the appliance further diagnosis is difficult at best but most likely not possible without going through it bit by bit and in person.

I really think that you have no option but to get someone that knows the machine in to look at it.

OK I just found your other thread. TBH E2 is not usually related to the timer/pcb. You may just be blocked and the period it was not in use may have just made it worse. Check under the little black flap in the sump under the filter, its a pipe with a 90 degree turn in it so dont ram anything to stiff up it, a small flexi bottle brush may do it.
I think you may of miss understood the re set instructions, look again. but TBH you dont normaly need to carry that out, only if you have activated the test programme. just selct P0 and shut the door, when it stops then try the wash programme.

Yeah Mark, but there’ s still the SD issue as well to consider, hence the reccomendation. 😕

Re: New PCB – Diplomat ADP8224 Dishwasher

Thanks guys. Initial problem (previous thread) was: the detergent compartment would not work. Engineer fitted new one, still not working so in went a new PCB, (Engineer said it is related!?) short test. OK. Engineer left. Loaded dishwasher, started great and after 5/6 mins, 4 bleeps and E2. (Prior to repair the d/w worked perfectly except the detergent compartment)

Since reading your replies I have now reinstated the old PCB and it works great, all the cycle, no bleeps or errors…BUT the new detergent compartment does not work.

I would like to use the new PCB as I paid lots of money for it and the engineer cost a fair bit….even though when I told him he said the PCB needed configuring to my m/c and he could not do it!! The last thread indicated that configuration was not required, just a reset, which I did.

Guys, I have an expensive PBC on the side which is causing an E2 problem. Can not return it, do not know where engineer got it from. Any ideas.

    Thanks

Forgot to add…..I have checked for blockage; the little black flap in the sump under the filter is fine, and the pipe is clear. Yet it is still giving E2 when new PCB is being used. OK when old one is used…except detergent dispenser will not open during cycle….original fault…so long ago!!

    Thanks guys.

    Steven,

It is possible, unlikely, but possible that you have the wrong soap dispenser as a replacement. There has been a couple of cases recently were the wrong SD installed would cause the E2 error however this is as yet a very rare occurence and unconfirmed as an actual problem. In effect, it could be as silly as you getting the wrong SD initially. Although to be fair with the original timer you should have heard one of the solenoids on the new SD buzzing all the time as it should have been constantly energised.

As for the PCB/timers, once fitted they are not returnable, there’s no spares seller that will take back used spares especially of that nature as there is no way to test that they have not been damaged. That’s the risk that we run every day with spares like this as even we cannot return them once they have been fitted either.

Was it an engineer that knew the MFI products that you got out? In my experience getting an engineer unfamiliar with specific appliances, especially these days, can work out to be a lot more expensive than the few quid you supposedly save initially on the call charges. But irrespective of that, any decent repairer will repair the appliance regardless, even if it ends up costing them money so the engineer that you got, if he’s any good, should sort it out for you as that’s what you paid him to do.

    K.
