ParticipantHello Folks.
Can you help me?
I am having trouble with a Siemens dishwasher, the series with the solid plastic base where you need the hands of a tiny alien to change the pump.
Well I have changed the pump and the thing keeps leaking.
I have seated everything back in their respective holes and points, all nice and neat. BUT STILL It keeps leaking.
But I just cant see where from when it is all back together.
Any advice or tips please?

Is this the drain pump or circulation motor (pump)?

Sorry, it was the drain pump that I replaced.

Access to the drain pump is easy once the front metal plate (held on with 2 T20 screws) is removed. It’s just a bayonet fit, release the locking tab and twist the pump toward you (clockwise) approx 10 degrees to remove. Clean the housing and refit in reverse order. Provided the pump is correctly seated it is virtually unknown for them to leak.

Thanks.
Yes, I have done a few in the past, without a problem.
This Siemens one had a black cover on the front. I had to tip machine on its back (water all over floor). Remove black plate to get the metal plate off that you mention.
Then i could not get my hand in. So had to loosen the base.
I would not say it was an easy task.
I would say the idea and design is cr4p. Very much like many Liebherr designs.

Long shot but worth a check. The salt container securing ring, remove the lower rack and check it is secure and tight.

Thanks for the replies
I had two pumps in my van. A hotpoint and a Bosch. Both leaked on fitting.
Brought into workshop, fitted a non gen and no leaks.
Thanks for the salt dispenser tip. Will look out for that one.

Have you checked the plastic pipe between the measuring tank & the sump, also the float chamber at the measuring tank can stick causing water to overflow. The pipe can fill with silt.I use a siphoning tube available from CPC to empty the base of water. Prevents water spilling/flooding onto the floor.
