    Hi,

Just want to find out if any one knows what qualification I need to work on domestic gas cookers, I have asked allot of gas trainers and they all want to send me on a 12 month course, but that includes doing boilers etc. that I am not intrested in. I have worked on allot of gas cookers before, but with new laws don’t evem touch them, but I do get allot of calls that I have to turn down as I am not qualified.

    Thanks.

    Re: Qualification

140 days gas experience supervised by a gas safe engineer ,ten job sheets ,5 days CCN1 training then your CKR 1
Is what I have just been quoted ,the sticking point for most is the 140 days .

You say you have worked on lots of gas cookers before “but with the new laws) what were you doing regarding the old laws?.

Yes 140 days is a bit of a sticking point, for the old law that was when I wasn’t self employed, and the company I worked for made me work on gas, even though I wasn’t qualified.
