A snippet from John Lewis website – “Zanussi washing machine tubs are constructed from HiCarboran, a unique and hard-wearing polymer-based material which reduces wear and tear and cuts down on noise and vibration. “

correct me if I am wrong, how can a “plastic” tub reduce wear and tear? If it is a tub that involves rotation then it must have bearings and these are prone to wear and tear unless the bearings are made from special plastic which I can’t see that happening. I’ve never known a metal tub cause more wear and tear, usually the other way round as in Hotpoint plastic tub.

Anyway a client asked me if I could price match with them, virtually impossible! £473.56 at my cost price from Swift without any add on, they charge £422 plus £9 for removal. I would be insulted if they asked me to install their new washing machine from John Lewis.

Well first off it doesn’t rust or is affected by corrosion of any kind based on its designed application. It is lighter and stronger than any metallic equivalent in that it can be ‘formed’ (moulded) in areas subjected to greater stresses and strains. (Metallic applications by the same token need additional bracing and reinforcement to be affective in withstanding those forces.)

Asside from direct ‘impact’ damage a HiCarboran tub is virtually indestructible hence it’s appeal and use by manufacturers worldwide.
