ParticipantHello,
like most here I too have a problem with my Fridge/ Freezer, a Hotpoint FFA40X.Its not cooling at all any more and the amber lights are flashing. I have tried to turn the applience off and reset it but after 5 minutes it starts to beep and amber lights are flashing. The beeping sound will stop if the door is opened, the applience seems blow air ? which will last about 10 sec then go completely quiet again. Also i tried keep both buttons pressed for 15 sec.
I tried the same as above with the super freeze button on on its own or in a combination of super chill and freeze the result is the same.
I have removed the back plate and the was no ice build up although there was some water in the tray outside of the applience.Thank you for reading . 🙂

Just wanted to add a few updates…last night we managed to get the fride going. For about 10 minutes you could the usual wheering noise then the alarm starting beeping again :amber lights on both sides flashing and the green on in the middle.
Could it be that it just needs some sort of kickstart? Excuse me for not being very knowledeable first time we had problems with a fride ever …any advice would be really appreciated ! Thanks.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint FFA40X pcb
I have now located the pcb, you can see that it has been frazzeled a bit, so I guess it needs replacing. Husband was chuft when he came home yesterday.
Now my question is should I buy a new one or send it off to one of those repair places because I dont think Iam able to repair it myself -its too long ago when I did it at school 😉

Ok module was tested and confirmed as ok. Mmh what now? Could it be the plug which is next to the compressor? Is that the relay? I had a closer look at it and it seems that the white case its in in discoloured .There is black plug inside the casing and if you lift the top off there is a round flat disk the discoloured outer is where this disk is located.
Item no of black plug :F/C 28-06White unit A89 F6 ZA
