Hi, I recently had this fridge installed and after 12 hours the red “fridge temp too high” light was still on.
I unplugged the fridge and plugged it back in only to hear a very load hissing noise that released a lot of white mist (like a clear version of a smoke show) – any advice on why it did this and what the gas was?

This doesn’t exactly soound too clever. I take it that the machine wasn’t cool after the 12 hours? If so then it’s back the retailer to request replacement I should think if it’s never worked from the get go.
It sounds as if it has a leak on the refrigerant side from what you say.

The fridge was still room temp, I’m just a bit worried about what the gas/mist was then filled the room.
If it was the refrigerant then it’s pretty much harmless, the mist would have been the compressor oil, again pretty much harmless and not to be worried about.
You would need serious quantities of either to be of any consequence or concern.

i have been trwling all the spares site that i can find, and i am having real trouble finding a spare door shelf for tis ffa70 model- does anyone know where i could get hold of one?

Assuming you have a FFA70P then the Bottle Rack (Part No 2603075) is available direct from Hotpoint or by emailing spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk confirming the full model number of course.
