Hi
My machine has stopped working. I have turned off the electric for 5 mins as can’t reach the plug and cleaned out the drain bit at the front bottom. Lights 1 & 4 are bliking on and off and the main red power ligth is flashing madly. If I close the door it just starts – even if i’ve turned the power switch off at the front of the machine. Then water seems to go into the soap box but the drum doesn’t go round it makes noise for about 10 mins or so and then stops – i can then open the door again but I can’t get it to do anything else?!! Any suggestions would be much appreciated as I loathe having to pay out for a new machine. Thanks in advance

hi LED’s 1 and 4 lit suggests the diagnostic believes the programming in the eeprom is corrupt. ( what does this mean ? )
Your appliance works like a small computer every time you select a programme the ” computer ” is instructed to run a pre set sequence for that cycle ie fill drain rotate etc.In most new Hotpoint/Indesit appliances they use a generic range of pcb’s or computers if you like, what separates them into different models is the software written into the EEProm this tells the computer what machine its in, what programmes there are, the max spin speed etc. When this becomes corrupt the instruction set gets muddled and the computer doesnt know what to do. Thats basically whats happening to your machine. To fix I’m afraid you’ll need a service call from an engineer with the computer interface capable of programming the eeprom.Re: Washer/Dryer 1200 WIDL126S – please help not working!
thanks for replying so promptly. Think i’m going to ignore it for tonight and have a glass of wine! i’ll tackle the “beast”again tomorrow! Thanks again 🙂
