Some years ago a certain Mr Chris Chantrell said in a post he made that, one day, he foresaw a day where (I apologise for the pharaphrasing) that he would get jobs straight off UKW or from his customers onto his local system and then he’d just go do the jobs.

I’ve no clue what thread or when it was, I just remember it, as I will explain.

If someone talks to Chris, can they point this out to him please as I’d love to hear his comments, he’s a clever guy.

I had to restrain myself from passing any meaningful comment on the topic as, I’d already designed the logic to be able to do just that, more or less, sort of. He called it too close for comfort though.

I would have replied on that thread if I could find it to prove the point but, I can’t.

A part of what rapport is a about was the old repairs@ module on the Nuke CMS. Sadly, “things” conspired against me setting me back a heap of time, many of you know what the “things” were and this isn’t the time or place to explore those.

I guess though that the point I’d make is that, the Engineer Search, it could be the hub of your world in some ways. If you’re not on there, please get on there. Just, for a change, trust me on this if you haven’t already done so.

That post from Chris I had to restrain myself over, well I laughed when I read it, thinking at the time, “if only they all knew what I have in mind…”, nobody tumbled to what repairs@ was intended for ultimately for, what the current version is for and the actual capability of it or why so much time and effort has been ploughed into it.

What I actually want it to do will take a whole lot more.

    K.
