the light flashing suggests ” Heater relay stuck ” this is mounted on the main PCB. Unfortunately you can’t just buy one and fit it on this appliance you would also need to buy a software chip called an EEPROM, get this fitted to the new PCB and programmed with the correct software. Sorry to say this is a job for an engineer not a DIY buff as your unlikely to have the computer interface needed to programme the chip.

hi thank you for your response
I don’t think that’s the problem. If the relay was stuck it would boil the water. By the way this happens most of the time not all time.
I was wondering if anybody knows how to reset the main board to factory settings. maybe that could solve the problem.I checked the heater and it’s OK.March 3, 2012 at 5:09 pm #370133iadom

Listen to people who have spent years repairing these machines. :rolls:
The electronics will self test all components and go into error mode if they encounter a fault. Therefore it will not boil if the heater relay is stuck. Its a very common fault on these poor quality Indesit PCB’s.
The eeprom on the board can only be reset by using the software that their own engineers have exclusive use of. 😥
Resetting the eeprom will not fix a faulty relay. 😉

Absolutely correct, the self diagnosis cycle which takes place before any programme is initiated would detect the closed contact on the relay and abort the cycle giving you the flashing light fault indicator.I know its always bad news to find a component failure’s likely to cost you a few quid but thats the untold cost of consumers forcing down the ” Real ” purchase cost of appliances. Build quality and component quality ultimately suffer.
