Hi, I have a Zanussi ZDF 221 – the door will not shut – I have tried adjusting the looped metal catch attached to the machine, as well as the plastic bit on the door that the catch goes into – is there a trick to sorting this out anyone?

check the rubber seal going around the tank where it meets the door is pressed fully home into its groove sometimes they stick to the door you open the door which pulls it forward so when you go to close the door again the seal stops it.

Just remembered something else that happened to these, if you jerked open the door the catch could ride over the lock mechanism without the lock actually disengaging. Turn the power off( pull the plug ) and look at the latch if you can see its still in the locked position you can pop it to open using a small screwdriver.
