    Hi Guys
    Can you help with this problem, the bottom sprayarm is not rotating if you open the door during the wash the top one is turning but the water is trickling out of the bottom arm.

    Have you checked the jets are clear?
    If there is pressure to the other spray arm and jets are clear and the machine isn’t being used on a half load wash. Then will most likely be the motorised valve motor.

    i have checked the jets the top arm works ok but there is no water coming out of the bottom arm.

    The diverter has gone bust on the heater box, replace the Heater (491756) to cure.:wink:

    Hi,

    Strangely I attended a similar one yesterday but on a S5433X1GB/50. In this case it’s the top arm not working. I was aware of this fault but never seen it my self before. I can hear the change of noise when it’s supposed to change arms but at ALL times, it’s only the bottom arm ever gets water. What I don’t hear is the noticeable pause and the change of arms getting water after. Water level is good, no obvious blockages, wash arms are meticulously clean. Incidentally I visited this appliance around 15 months ago and had to clean out the metering system.

    Does that sound about right for a diverter fault ??

    491756 is the current part number for the heater assembly on both of these. Replaces 483257

    Yes!

    Assuming the actual Enr no is S5433X1/50 then the part no = 491756 😀

    Thanks for that Martin. I thought it was the diverter valve. I just needed that extra bit of confirmation

    Oh and I’ve corrected my typo re the part number :boops:

    Hi Martin, it was the the diverter valve on the heater box as I though and you confirmed. All done, all sorted invoice submitted. Why are they always built in though??

    Wait ’til you come across the later generation of Bosch machines (SMS series) where the diverter is a seperate unit.
