    Hello everyone 😀

    Re Dyson DC04 (clutch type)
I know that these cleaners are now a bit ‘long in the tooth’, but my main gripe with this cleaner has been how ‘soft and crumbley’ the plastic on the machine gets with age. I’ve now lost count of the number of ‘stairs T piece’ adaptors I’ve bought for this machine. The slightest pressue on the tool seems to cause it to snap off at the union

I’ve swopped the motor brushes, and the fixing screws into the main chassis I daren’t tighten to hard for fear of stripping the ‘thread’ in the plastic.

Are the latest machines any better? They look rather ‘fragile’, but probably work OK!

    Thanks for any comments/advice.JM.

Buy a Sebo or a Miele, much, much better quality without any doubt. 😉

do a lot of dyson repairs and refurbs, in my humble opinion the best of the lot was the dc07 it all went downhill from there quality wise but even the 04’s and 07’s were really eager to give you a cloud of smoke when the carbons got low if you didnt catch it quick. All in all terrific design and performance but build quality and component quality is terrible throughout the range.
