ParticipantDoor stuck shut with clothes in. Holidayers going home Sat. would like to go home dressed.
Might have to go out to this later in the week but would like to avoid if possible as it’s in remote holiday cottage.
Apparently it’ll fill for a few seconds then stops.
They have seen, “H2O” at times on the screen and “something that the book says means error” at other times. They have tried spin only to obtain drainage; plug out for a few mins and back in and so on. Apparently this is push button opening.
Here’s a pic borrowed from ghand1’s old thread,

I take it the button far right is the offender?
Tactile switch? P.I.T.A doing 16 mile round trip just to open a bloody door.

could well be the interlock thats faulty had lots of these metaflex locks that simply don’t disengage, any other fault unplug and leave for 5 mins it’ll open its only a thermal lock no pressure switch supply or motor cable. On the off chance its a new varient with immediate opening you can manually release using the pull rod under the kick plate but pretty sure this is the thermal delay type

It’s a Chinese whispers situation. The caretaker is the one who’s ringing me. Why they don’t just get the guests to ring me direct I’ll never know :rolls: .
So many times I go out to holiday cottages and find there’s nothing at all wrong. Just the punters dissatisfied with having to pay such extortionate rentals and doing their best to get a bit knocked off. Or just because it’s a machine they don’t know how to operate. Then having to send an invoice to the owner or agent. Think I’ll pack them in; takes all the fun out of working.
Thanks for the help guys.

Finally went round to it yesterday.
Oh dear.
Switch to any wash programme and it fills for anything from 2 to 7 seconds. Then it stops apparently dead but the time display continues counting down the minutes. (I presume that’s why they “couldn’t get the door open” because the machine was still carrying on with the programme, oblivious to the fact that there was nothing happening.)
Switch to a drain or spin programme and it pumps out for usually 2 seconds.
Meggered everything including motor and heater individually. All in the hundreds of megs.
Had motor off and checked brushes, tacho output, field coils, toc.
Water valves read fine, nothing in filter.
Had fascia board out. All tactile switches feel positive – though I’m sort of thinking I should have brought that away for further testing at home.
Checked main board which is immaculate. No blown looking caps, no burn marks, zilch.
So, yeah, I know, “it’s the board” thanks muchly. But any further info beyond that? Or have I missed something else?
I guess I’ll have a check over these relays to start with.
Ta, Mike. -
