ParticipantHello,
I have a Bosch Hydrosensor (Silver edition if that makes a difference). I believe the model number is SGS535893/17. There are several numbers etched into the top of the door and I’m unsure which is the model number, sorry if that’s the wrong one!
My problem is the dishwasher seems to be getting stuck draining. I have taken the left side of the dishwasher off and can see the large clear plastic tank that water flows through. I’ve also located the red float valve thing that appears to switch the dishwasher from drain to fill. I have done my best to make sure the float is clean and that there is nothing in the ‘chamber’ it sits in but this has not helped. It seemed clean anyway.
A further bit of poking around and shining a torch into it shows there is a tray with what looks like a small dish in it. This ‘dish’ appears to be floating on water in the tray which is causing the red lever next to the float to trigger a drain cycle. I really hope that makes sense! I’m not sure how to describe it better. I have taken the kick panel off the front but there appears to be just a solid panel behind it, it doesn’t allow me access to this tray, which I presume is what I need to clear of water to fix this problem.
If someone could explain how to get at this tray to empty it and where this water might be coming from I’d be extremely grateful, it’s getting quite frustrating now and I’m hesitant to try and force pieces out of the way in case I damage anything. I can’t see anything obvious to push/pull/unscrew from the left hand side that would get the whole float/lever/other bits assembly out of the way. I also have no idea what might be causing this tray to fill up. Apologies for length, I’m determined, if it’s within my power, to mend this myself! Thanks for any help! I have done my best to follow similar items in this forum but so far have not found a solution, although it did get me this far. Sorry if I’m overlooking an obvious answer somewhere.March 21, 2012 at 8:40 am #371450Martin

Water in the base tray indicates that somewhere within there is a leak. With the appliance unplugged from the mains simply tip the machine backwards a few degrees to allow the water to drain out (onto the floor).
Finding the source of the leak however can a little daunting by virtue of the restricted access. Most leaks occur from an overflowing fill matrix, a leaking main circulating pump, leaking water heater unit, leaking salt container cap and even tiny rust holes in the stainless tub.
Best of luck! 😀
