    Hello,

This fridge-freezer has been faultless for 4years, until last week.

Everything in the fridge part freezes (unless it is on the top shelf). The thermostat seems to have no effect (even on number 1, everything still freezes!). I have had a listen and i think the compressor is always on. Turning the thermostat up or down does not give you that reassuring ”click” of it actually doing something.

I defrosted the freezer yesterday, thinking that would help, but it didn’t.

Is it likely to be a faulty thermostat? or similar?

If so, where would i be able to pick up the part? and, being quite competent at repairs, how easy is it to fix?

    Many thanks, in advance,

    Yours

    Phil

    Phil,
T’stat is most likely culprit. Part no. is 2262146-22/4; Dave will be able to price it up and supply for you – probably be Monday though!

Even better, I’ll do it tonight, that thermostat is just a Ranco K59 so a universal VT9 will do the trick quite nicely, you can get one here in our shop:

I’ll get one off tommorow for you if you want to order one Phil.

    Dave.

Yes please – would you be able to supply some fitting instructions, too? Thanks

    Phil 😉

    P.S. ordered 😀
