Hi, I own a 4-year old Butler fan oven (a BOV2214, I think, but documentation was a little confusing). A couple of weeks ago, it tripped the downstairs electrics and now the fan comes on, but it doesn’t heat up. I’ve assumed the element needs replacing (would appreciate if someone could confirm this?). However, upon removing the back panel it looks as if the element is held in place with a top screw and then what appear to be 2 nails in the bracket (flat-headed fixings, at least) rather than the usual 3-screw arrangement.

I can’t see any way to remove these other than prising them out by force. Would I have to take the entire unit out to access the back to remove the element? Can anyone advise? As other posters have mentioned, Butler was distributed by Theobalds who have now ceased trading, so zero customer support available.

    Thanks

    Hi

You need to remove the oven from housing, then the back panel of oven ,the element is held with 2 nuts from the rear. Lots of elements are fixed this way.

Switch off at mains first before attempting repair.
