Hello
My Sebo X1 is making a rattling noise which is worse when there is resistance on the roller. The roller is still turning and there is still suction. There is obviously something amiss and any help in identifying the problem would be appreciated. I am sure it can be fixed and am reluctant to replace it yet as it is only about 15 years old and has been faultless so far.
Thanks for the reply.
I have recently fitted a new brush roller after which the machine was okay for a couple of months. The noise is also present when I run the machine without the roller installed.
If it is the motor is it worth repairing or should I buy a new machine. Also if it is the motor would it still run albeit noisily? My local parts shop suggested that it was probably the clutch. Any thoughts on this and how I can isolate the problem?
Probably too late now but it’s more likely the outer roller bearing (the bit that you remove to remove the roller) rather than the motor. Run it with roller removed, if noise persists it’s the motor.
