ParticipantWe have had this fridge/freezer for several years without any problems – until now!
Water seems to be dribbling into the bottom of the freezer compartment. It freezes into a block of ice below the bottom tray, then starts dribbling out the door.
It feels like something in the defrost system is blocked – but I can’t for the life of me see how to clear any blockage.
Any thoughts?

Hi
You will need to turn the whole appliance off for 48hrs with the freezer door left open to remove all the ice build up.
Then at the rear above the compressor drip tray there is a small rubber flap.Remove the flap and throw away. restart your unit and that’ll fix it.

Hi Bryan,
Thanks for the reply. I’m a bit puzzled.
1) There isn’t any ice build up in the fridge/freezer. The water dribbles down into the freezer compartment; forms a block of ice under the bottom tray that I lift out; then it all happens again. Is there some other ice build up going on behind the scenes?
2) I can’t find a rubber flap above the compressor drip tray. There is a small rubber tube. I’ve attached a picture:
… but this tube is completely open and unblocked as far as I can see.3) How on earth are you supposed to remove the drip tray? There seems to be a metal coil dipping down into it that stops it coming out. I’ve never had to do it before but should I need to how do I do it? Is there a trick?
Thanks again.

Just pull that rubber off and defrost the unit. This is what causes this problem.

OK, thanks I’ll do that. Does this mean that the auto-defrost has somehow packed in? Or does this just happen every now and again?
