    Hi,
I have a Creda oven, model 48196, which is not heating up to full temperature. I don’t think the element is the problem as the oven still heats up to around 160 degrees (when the temperature dial shows 220) and will cook food, but obviously it’s becoming a bit of a pain trying to do any accurate cooking/baking.

Having done a bit of Googling I am wondering if the issue could be a faulty thermostat, however I am reluctant to purchase a spare part and go the DIY route at present as 1) I’m not even sure the thermostat is the issue and 2) replacing the thermostat doesnt look that simple to me as i can’t even see the existing thermostat capillary tube at all in the main oven, have visions of it being an overly complex task.

All in all am a bit confused about what the best approach is and am hoping for some advice please! Thanks 🙂

A competent person with a decent kit of tools wouldn’t have too much trouble replacing the oven thermostat. It’s fairly straightforward though the whole oven will need to come out in order to complete the procedure.

A local repairman could easily sort it for you if you like. Find one near you by clicking HERE 😀
