    Hi Folks

Went to this last week and couldn’t fault it. Cust phoned next day dead again. Searched on forum and would appear that display module is favourite for this.

Took module out – tightened conections and worked again – swiched off – wouldn’t swicth on again. Hmmm.. posible broken wire in harness. Phoned EMW said test for low voltage at module which I did and got 5-8v accross two of the connections. Sent module for repair and just came back no fault found.

    Back to wiring harness?

Any one had intermitant fault like this? Also anyone got part no.for harness between display module and (presume main module). Also how easy is it to fit as cant see where it goes through door hinges? Anyone had trouble with harness before or is it likly to be main board?

    Thanks

    Mick

    Thanks for the reply Colin

Checked with three suppliers and looks like this is a special order with all three so would seem that the wiring is not a perticular problem on these machines plus means it is non returnable.

Anyone had to replace one before? Or had this intermitant problem with display?

    Thanks

Not known for harness faults but i have had display mods dead on a few of these if you have a console mod off any digital display hotpoint you can use it to test

    Thanks for the reply Hotdog

Might be better if it was dead – at least I might come up with something positive. Because it is intermitant difficult to know where to go without component swaping – which could be expensive as I don’t have any spare display boards of other Hotpoints.

Was convinced was display board as got a supply to it but it has come back no fault found – so not sure if the board was in one of it’s working modes when it was tested or it is ok.

That why i wondered if anyone had intermitant faults on the display board or do they just pack up?

Going back to refit module today and see what happens.

    Thanks

Refitted display module yesterday – gave terminal connectons a little squeeze again just to make sure – all worked ok??

Swiched m/c on n off numerous times – opened n closed door numerous times and all worked ok!! Watched through rinse n spin cycle and restarted machine – all ok.

Unless it was bad connection on terminal block not sure what it is – just one on lifes little mysteries but will be on tender hooks for the next month waiting for the recall 😕

Thanks for the help and comments

    Mick
