…is not working! It starts, runs for about 4 mins then stops, door opens and error code E50 is displayed.

Have called an engineer who says I need a new PCB (very expensive). I am dubious that the PCB needs replacing…dont know why, as I know nothing about tumble dryers (or electrical stuff). Have looked up E50 code and seems to be a motor fault (so why do I need a PCB?). Is there anything that I can try , the quote for the pcb plus fitting etc is over £200, i dont want to just get a new machine (thinking of the landfill) but dont want to replace pcb to find out that this was not the fault after all….would appreciate any help…

E50 is indeed associated to a fault with the motor, so the motor needs checking out for sure. Did the guy do that I wonder?

Big ‘cop out’ for some guys that haven’t a clue what the actual fault is to blame the PCB knowing you won’t be foolish enough to go along with a repair…….hmm?
