    Hi All

    I have a Candy CFU130 /1K built-in freezer.

Recently I’ve had a few temperature warning alarms, mostly (but not all) sort themselves out by putting the freezer on ‘boost’. Yesterday it happened again.

I took the freezer out to clean the condenser coils and look for any issues. There’s a bit of corrosion around the cold pipe from the compressor but nothing else. The PCB looks mint. On a couple of occasions the fan has been running but not the compressor. The compressor gets quite hot to the touch and the freezer is more noisy than it used to be.

Any ideas what this could be? Thermostat seems OK as temperature alarm works. Compressor usually (but not always) works on boost, but not otherwise. Intermittent relay / compressor / PCB failure?

If it makes any difference the buzzer always seems to sound at night.

    Thanks

    Hi

There doesn’t appear to be a separate thermostat on this model, just a temperature probe (thermistor?) in the freezer running directly to the PCB.

The temperature probe reads from 12KOhms at working temperature to 5KOhms at room temperature. Is this about right?

Any idea what could be making the compressor run noisier?

    Thanks
