ParticipantI have Asko WM /DW /TD they are 18 years old, l have had two minor faults
were called Asea then.Family tell me to change them, my cooker is Cannon 151 1978 shows my age and that I’m a tight fisted Scot.
I certainly don’t work on anything that reliable now.

KeymasterI have Blomberg disguised as a Brandt washer, smeg DW, oven/hob and a Maytag FF with a De Deitrich badge on it.
All change soon though with a bit of luck as I’m doing the kitchen which means I’ll be on the scrounge soon. 😉

All Bosch in the kitchen apart from a Cannon gas cooker and an old Hoover tumble dryer that lives in the conservatory where it belongs 😉

Ken, If I’d noticed earlier I’d have kept you happy. We’ve got a Servis washing machine that still has “Scrap” written on the side, Bosch dishwasher, Hotpoint tumble drier that I took down from Scotland with me, New world ceramic top range cooker (bout 12 years old, again from work), some no name combination microwave convection oven and a Whirlpool side by side fridge freezer. (another scrap unit from work).

Glad I am not the only one who finds a good home for the supposed scrap appliances .
Miele w/m recovered from scrap pile (1 broken wire at rear of motor)
Aeg 90cm s/s hood Product Exchange never collected by aeg (QER pcb repair)
aeg ceramic touch panel hob new its on nr 3 pcb grrrr
aeg double build under oven new
aeg f/f bargain end of line from aeg
aeg built in d/w got to be the quietest machine I have ever come across then again made me want to weep paying for it even at trade price. 😯December 8, 2004 at 1:07 am #120552Penguin45
ParticipantI’ve been in so much trouble tonight. I’m not allowed to actually USE any of our appliances (Julia actually tells customers this – he can fix them; no idea what to do with them!). Anyway, I’ve been saying for weeks that the motor bearings on the Blomberg are on their way out and today – yes – the motor seized. Has she done anything about it? Booked an engineer (me!) ? No! So it’s all my fault and – I’ve spent the evening getting a Bosch running in the workshop to prevent further earbending.
Is this my fault, or am I just misunderstood? :con:

Ah, Just so happens I have a couple of Blomberg motors lying around the house. (Not for much longer if the wife gets her way). I know one has a broken tacho magnet but I believe the other is fine.

ParticipantNice thought DP – unfortunately it’s the semi-commercial with the monster Seimens brush/induction motor. I’ll pull it apart at the weekend after I’ve organised a small gang of navvies to drag the bugger out.
Cheers,
Chris. -
