Hi – my dishwasher is constantly draining – float switch activated.
Have tipped out water and it works… kinda. however it’s leaking so I suspect a leak is root cause.My question is how can I access the underneath of the machine?
Have removed kickplate bit, and can only see a hole in the middle.Do I remove the door? (seems peripheral to the problem)
Do I remove the sides?
Do I flip the machine and try to remove the bottom?I am familiar with the door assembly having replaced PCB on similar machines, but don’t want to waste time.

but it’s not too helpful.Can you help??

PS a cup or two of water came out when I tipped it.
But when filling (still slightly tilted as a piece of wood was under a corner of it) it seemed like much more water was coming out the front.

Simple answer, far from straightforward.
The side panels, outer door panel, counterweight, baskets, filters and so on need removing. The actual tub has to be lifted clear of its base to then have full access to the working components within. There is no other way so don’t even go there!
It helps first to simply remove the side panels and run the machine to try to locate the leak first. As once it’s in bits you’ll never be sure. It’s either the main circulation pump, the heater or an overflowing water inlet matrix being the main suspects.
You’d be well advised though to seek local help from a independent repairer. Not really a job for the DIYer to be honest! 🙁

Thanks for the quick response.
I have removed the bits (not too bad as I have dismantled this machine and its predecessor a dozen or so times) and can clearly see the water is flowing out of an outlet at the top of a tank. Same tank has gunge in the corner nearby – I’ll post some photos.

This is the pic of the part that’s leaking.
The outlet at the top – should that be connected to something?
If not, it seems that the “proper” exit for the water needs clearing?
What next?

Sure looks like your problem to me! You’ll need to remove it completely from the machine, from the inlet/ outlet hoses too. Then try to get a strong bleach solution into the matrix to clear the sediment build-up clear of a air lock valve inside it. Not easy by any means but possible with care and patience. Careful reassembly, especially careful of the O rings that connect it to the salt container is advised.

Obvious crud removed from the injectory shaped outlet at the bottom of the matrix, and picked out similar from the pressure chamber inlet (haven’t removed this bit).
From your advice I will now focus on the matrix, trying to clean the cruddy bit (air lock thingy?) at the top.
Once I have it clean (I’m an optimist) – should I reassemble and test or do you think I should try to remove and clean the pressure chamber (I think this is what it is looking at exploded parts diagrams).

:clown: 😀 I’m all smiles. Whacking the matrix with a dishbrush handle with washing up liquid then vinegar inside did the trick, it game up lovely after much wobbling.
All went back together like a dream, I didn’t even have any pieces left over.
Works perfectly now.
