Must admit this is a first for me, AEG/Elux build in Freezer, PNC 922754704 02 with a large circuit board atatched to the compressor inplace of the normal relay.
Compressor not running, no errors showing. COmpressor pin resistance read ok. Anyone know how to check if its the board on the compressor (£205+vat) or one of the control boards?
Have got the elux service manual on the VEM but its no real help identifying fault. Anyone out there with any experience on these?
The compressor for this model is £739+ vat by the way and no alternative can be fitted due to the VEM control!
Its a speed controlled type compressor, on the American style SxS units where a condenser fan failed the compressor would overheat & a temp’ fuse on the P.C.B went open circuit causing symptoms you describe, may be an idea to check p.c.b to see if you can repair this t.o.c.
customer took a punt on this after I checked the resistance of the compressor. (no condenser fans on this one but a intergrated so heat build up could be an issue) Fitted the pcb thing and off it went, customer now happy that this fantastic system will saver her 50p a year or something in electric bills over a standard freezer. cost of repair? just a smidgen over £300!
