For no apparent reason, the fridge unit started indicating the door open warning sound after a few seconds it ended but this problem then started happening intermittently.
The water filter symbol also came on amber and I am unable, having changed the filter to reset this to green.
The rest of the controls seem to have little effect and I cannot enter the diagnostic mode through pressing the two top buttons.
I cannot change the temperature on either fridge or freezer I cannot turn the ice maker to crushed ice or off the two bottom buttons when pressed put the fridge in vacation mode.
The unit is from 2003 and has been relatively trouble free except for one occasion of icing up when a sensor was replaced internally.
Any help or advice would be appreciated
    All the best Stryker

    Hi

The most probable cause will be due to corrosion on the back of the display PCB and the multi plug connection.

You could try to clean them off with a suede brush but its possible if they are very badly corroded then the pins may break off. either way you wouldn’t lose anything as the controls would reset to default -20 and +3.
