ParticipantHello experts! Would appreciate any advise on my sticky spot.
I installed this morning the dishwasher as in the subject, ran the 15 minute pre-wash while empty as advise in manual. Then put in dishes and ran the 30 minute rapid wash. After 45 minutes into the 30 minute cycle i got worried, at 55 minutes i opened the door to investigate – there was 2 inches of water at the bottom and all wet inside.
After investigating the drainage issue it turns out the conenction I used at the U-bend had a small plug inside that i hadnt known about – the dishwasher had no way to drain. I removed the plug and the drain pipe to the dishwasher gave a hiss of air. I reconnected and shut the door and the program began to run again. It drained, but the cycle still didnt finished.
I’ve tried now pressing various ‘cancel’ or start new cycle options. I’ve even turned off and on at the plug. But the dishwasher just doesnt seem to do much. Its just thrumming loudly, but its not heating or circulating water. I have no idea what it’s doing, but it wont stop doing it.
I found instructions here to run the test mode, i’ve done that and it is still doing the same thing, just now with all 5 programme lights lit.
Help! Have i damaged it by not knowing the drainage pipe was closed off?

It should have worked if it was clear. 😕

Its not doing anything. It just makes a thrumming sort of noise, with the light on for ‘wash’. No other noises of the water or anything else. I left it on for over an hour and there’s not been any change.
Eek!

the appliance has overfilled and flooded into the base, anti flood has started and it runs the drain pump all the time, you need to tip the appliance back to empty the base of water.

Bob, you’re a lifesaver! I disconnected it, slide it out and rolled it back and a lake filled the kitchen.
It’s now happily running through a 15 minute rinse cycle. No drain pump noise, just the sound of water and spray arms.
Thank you so much for the help and advise Bob. I was becoming rather concerned that i’d have to replace it after only having it a few hours! Lesson learnt – check u-bend connections to make sure they’re open prior to attaching appliances!
