ParticipantGood afternoon. Am going round in circles wondering which integrated slimline dishwasher I should purchase to replace my dear old Siemens workhorse that has finally packed up after 12 busy years! All my appliances were expensive but have repaid me with years of service, so I don’t mind forking out for a really good replacement. Having said that, I think the Miele integrated slimline at £1000+ is out of my price range!
I am uncertain whether to opt for a Neff S58M69XOGB from John Lewis for £532 or the AEG F78400ViOP for £679. It would be convenient to buy from John Lewis and I trust them. Alternatively, I could look for a replacement Siemens from elsewhere.
Do you have any thoughts or recommendations?
Many thanks!

Hi
I would go for the Neff (same stable as Siemens) just not as many bells and whistles, it will use slightly more water and energy, but will come out cheaper than the Siemens equivalent.
The John Lewis models are usually badged up Electrolux group machines.
HTH 🙂

Hi Don. Thanks so much – that is very helpful. When you say the John Lewis models are made by Electrolux, I assume you mean the John Lewis own-brand dishwashers rather than the Neff dishwashers sold through John Lewis? Also, I assume the BSH machines are superior to Electrolux? Many thanks.

Do be sure to take advantage of their 5 year extended warranty offer, as the modern slimline dishwashers reliability is far far less than your trusty Siemens is or was. 😉

Thanks Martin. I am aware that I’ve been lucky to have such a good long run with the Siemens – it’s never even gone wrong so this is the first time I’ve ever had an engineer out to look at it. I have an ancient AEG washing machine of similar vintage…it’s been used probably nearly every day for 12 yrs and I love it to bits…will be gutted when that one bites the dust!
Neff with extended warranty from John Lewis sounds like the best bet. Many thanks.June 24, 2012 at 8:39 pm #376002cockney steve

If you’re sensible (as your purchases would indicate, you are)
You’ll buy an ISE and get the quietest, smoothest, most economical ,efficient and thorough machine you’ve ever seen.No. 1 son eventually bit the bullet and still raves about just how good it is, no problems with his Eczema, saves on detergent and leccy and rates as his best investment ever, other than, possibly, his wife.

Didnt know ISE made a slimline integrated dw?
You wont go wrong with a Neff, but i would seek out your local Neff dealer who will be cheeper than John Lewis
