This washing machine will fill with water but motor momentarily bursts straight into fast spin rather than wash action.Set to spin water drains and again motor bursts into a short fast action and cuts off.

Thought obvious motor fault but checked tacho and motor tests ok on megger, although access was somewhat limited. Can a faulty pcb cause this fault or am I missing something?
Anyone familiar with this fault please?

    Thanks

did you check tacho for continuity or output ?

have you checked motor magnet has not snapped as this is not an uncommon fault

Only checked tacho for continuity, in hindsight could well be a broken magnet as you suggest.
Assume new motor required if magnet problem? doesn’t look like a screw on job as per the old Zanussi’s.

    Thanks for reply.

    no probs m8

yes new motor job although a few people on here have glued them with some success but in my opinion it does not constitute a reliable repair
